Most Helpful Positive Review LT Retired
These laser grips are great. I put them on in a few minutes. Had a little trouble getting the pin all the way in but that is due to the grips fitting tightly for accuracy as they should. Once on I manually adjusted the windage using the manual sights and the laser dot (without firing). Then it was off to the range. I was sighted in a few inches high, but after a few turns of the allen wrench the sights were dead on. This is one of the best investments I have ever made with relation to fire arms. Not only is the sight easy to use, it really helps you getting used to point shooting and li...

Another Great Crimson Trace Product

by bill, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on September 3, 2015
The LG-617 was bought for and installed on an older Gen 2 G22 pistol. CT's product listing states that it is made to fit Gen 3 pistols, but CT's excellent customer service rep told me it would fit the Gen 2 also. It fits perfectly, and installation and battery change is very easy (1 pin, no screws). The rear activation is positive and works well and CT's quality is great, as I have experienced previously. The fit in most existing holsters should not be affected. The unit does add about 1/2" to the back right side of the pistol slide and about 1/4" to each side of the grip. Note that it is possible for the index finger to temporarily interrupt the laser beam along the side of the slide when holding the firearm in a ready position with index finger extended - this is minimized by watching the finger position through intentional and safe dry-fire practice. I highly recommend this CT product for the full-size Glock, especially for home defense and range use.

Great product for use in the dark

by Legacy Reviewer, from NY, United States Written on July 24, 2013
I purchased this because of a Crimson Trace video I received and thought it would be great for home defense and putting the gun on target in the dead of night. The price was very reasonable. Installation very simple and outstanding ease of use. Only drawback was that I could not see the "red" dot on target at ten yards on a sunny day. However, thats not what I purchased it for. I wanted to be able to light up a target, if needed, in a dark house in the middle of the night and it works great under those conditions.
Pros: Very easy to install, ease of use.
Cons: can't see it at all in sunlight at 10 yards.

A great help

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from KY, United States Written on January 14, 2013
It works great indoors. Outdoors it is still very good except in direct, very bright sunlight and on certain materials where the laser dot does not show well. As this is my first laser sight, I guess this is to expected. All in all I am very happy with the sight. I use a Glock 17 and am getting to be very accurate out to 20-30 yards. It is also allowing me to work on my steadiness of hand, breathing, etc. so that the sight stays on target. This is a boon to all of my shooting including with other open sights. Because of the way it mounts, I can use all of my old holsters as well.
Pros: It really helps keep me on tagrget
Cons: Adjustments are very sensitive

Laser Grip LG-617

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on January 12, 2012
I put the Laser Grip LG-617 on my 17L and its accuracy was greatly increased. This red laser is highly visible in bright sunshine and long distances. Its made with the same high quality plastics used in the Glock so it adds to the overall good looks of the Glock.

How to sight perfectly at any distance!

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on November 24, 2011
I liked my LaserMax internal sight version except it was 4" off!

Then I heard that this on wil sight differently at 25' and at 50' which makes sense if you zero in the impact point.

But then I had a brilliant idea, why not just measure the offset of this laser (example 1" left and 1" down from the center of the barrel) and just sight it this way (should impact the same at 50') this way its always the same impact point (1" offset) at any distance!

Now you have a bteer solution than the internal because it can only be of an inch (rather than 4" off).

Haven't tried it yet but makes sense right? The laser and barrel should just point straight like the internal one.

The Way to Go!

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on June 30, 2011
Easy to install, best if you remove the slide, but you may have to try the alternate pins for the correct fit. If you have ANY doubt, just get someone at the gun shop, who's familiar with it, to help....no gunsmith required. For the full size Glocks this seems to be the BEST choice, but you have to get accustomed to the laser's offset from the bore and decide what distance you want to zero. I've ordered another one for my S&W revolver. I just wish they had one to fit everything.
Pros: automatic activation, adjustable, bright
Cons: angle off centerline of bore
