On my third attempt to get a red laser lg 489 for my m&p shield 9 mm that will work - Crimson Trace Laserguard Laser Sight for S&W Shield Handgun

Bought a new M&P Shield 9mm with the LG 489 Red laserguard attached and the laser quit working very shortly after purchase. Customer service did send me a replacement, but it has stopped working as well. When I took the laserguard goff the pistol I noticed a small piece of metal inside the grip that had come off, apparently due to poor mfg quality. That’s two LG 489 Red laser grips that were defective in a few months. I do have their laser attachments on other pistols and they work well, but there is something wrong with this particular laser model.
