I probably should have given the LTG-701 5 stars, but apparently I didn't do enough research in exactly what 1911's this item will and will not fit. I purchased this light along with the CT LG-401 laser grips with the hopes of mounting both on a Ruger SR1911. The laser grips installed and function perfectly on this pistol, but the LightGuard LTG-701, not so well. It came so close to installing, but fell short where the trigger guard, light pressure switch meet. In the defense of Crimson Trace, the box states: "Fits most Kimber,Ruger and Smith&Wesson E-Series 1911....". I assume the only way you should buy one is by letting the seller let you try it on your pistol before buying???
Cons:
- Not sure what it can be installed on

It arrived on time , undamaged all pieces and tools supplied, but... if you have the laser hand grips on your pistol the end of the flash lite and the top of the laser grip button will bump and you will not have the clearance to put on the trigger lite ,so just trim the edge of the trigger lite below the (on) button and it will fit as directed, granted it is a small modification I think 1/16 of and inch, but once I got it on the trigger it worked great, now I have my laser pistol grips and a lite. thank you.

Although not specified for all full-size 1911s on the mfr's site, a reviewer said he got one of these lights to fit his 1911 Colt Gov't. model, so I bought one. Took a lot of filing to adjust the mounting grooves to the contours of the trigger guard, but hey, with snow outside up to my car bumper, I needed something to do indoors anyway LOL. Finally got it installed last night and it is great to have a 1-handed light & gun combo to defend the pooch from coyotes at night when she's out in the front yard.
Pros:
- Self-contained
- automatically turns on/off
- mfr offers free annual replacement batteries
Cons:
- Fitting work required
- makes holster selection difficult
Best Used for:
- Home defense and night use

Got the light to put on my 1911 Sig. I already have the Master series laser on the gun. Went to snap it on the trigger and the back of the case snapped. In hind sight, the laser trigger interfered with the light attachment.Hope they stand behind their product like they say they will. The optics cost as much as the gun.

I really likes how it looks on my Kimber. It looks like it came straight from the factory.
Pros: Easy to install & use
