Durability?

For the price you can’t beat it if you get one that doesn’t come apart. I go to the range about once a week, so put about 1k rounds through my p365 a month. With the micro on my pistol, sometime about three months after putting it on, the lens/glass came loose and I noticed before it fell out in the dirt. Contacted Crimson Trace and they guarantee their red dots for a couple years from date purchased. So, luckily I had purchased it here at Optcs Planet and I could take a screenshot of the receipt. It was a hassle, but they replaced it. Now I’m nervous about putting this on my carry gun/p365. Otherwise it’s a nice i red dot, and I like auto brightness because I often forget to check before leaving my house to turn up the brightness.

Nice RDS for carry pistol.

I have one of the earlier Crimson Trace Micro RDS that was factory installed on a performance center M&P Shield plus and it has performed quite well. That one had a polymer housing. This newer RDS has an alloy housing which should be able to withstand a greater amount of abuse. Motion awake feature should be an improvement on battery life as well. This is an amazing aid for aging eyesight. As always, Optics Planet comes through with competitive pricing and timely delivery.

Worth twice the price

Found this unit on sale here. It did get lost in the mail (free shipping) but eventually got here. I mounted it on my Ruger Max-9. The screws that came with it were too short but I had some that worked from other projects. Took it to the range and zeroing it was a breeze. It functions flawlessly and is a hoot to shoot with. Seems to hold zero well. No complaints here.

Works like you would expect it to from CT. Very happy with my purchase. Accuracy on my S&W Shield is VERY good. Fit perfectly without a plate. I would definitely recommend.

Overall Great

I really like this red dot so far; pretty easy to adjust, install was very easy, red dot is easy to see. The primary thing I don’t like (which probably isn’t their fault to be fair) is that I can’t fully see the iron sights when installed, I can see about 2/3rds of it. When I see it’s a Micro I do personally expect to see the full factory sights given they are a backup if battery dies. Overall I am a fan and would recommend it to someone else with a Hellcat given the Wasp is no longer made. The physical design is also a bit obscure which I really like personally, the futuristic thing is cool.

Auto Dimming Too Aggressive in Dark

Got the Rad Pro Micro for my Shield Plus. Fit perfectly, I like the sight in general, but the auto dimming is WAY too aggressive in the dark. In a dark indoor room, you CAN NOT see the dot. There's no manual brightness, so there's nothing you can do to increase the brightness, so the sight is useless indoors in the dark. Good thing my pistol has night sights.

Great Optic for the money.

I have this on my Shield Plus as well as on my Canik TP9 Elite SC. Easy to mount, more durable than it’s polymer competitors in this price range and half the price of the aluminum housed competitors in the next tier without sacrificing quality. Had it on my Canik for about 6 months before I got my second Shield Plus (the second being Optics-Ready), and it was an easy choice for the latter.
