Most Helpful Positive Review green is the way to go
I own a handful of Crimson Trace lasers and I've never been disappointed. I own both the red and green lasers, and the green is by far worth the extra money! In complete darkness, the green will bloom the entire room a bit as opposed to the red which will bloom only the chest area on a target. It is...

Most Helpful Negative Review less than worthless
I have a Springfield XD 40. When I mounted this product on my gun I found it did not fit that well. At the gun range it was even less effective. After about 30 rounds it stopped working, flickering on and off. Sometimes it would not even turn on. $175 wasted. I will think twice about a Crimson trace...

Crimson Trace laser

by RickInMi, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on August 31, 2024
I purchased this for a pistol caliber carbine not a hand gun.
It was easy to mount and to zero and so far it works great.
It is better for short range.

Great laser

by Blimp, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on April 15, 2024
I own a couple of these and they fit anything I put them on and work flawlessly. Batteries last quite well and they don’t come loose or lose point of aim. They are really compact and built very well. Only downside is the costs. These were way less expensive just 2-3 years ago. First one I bought was around 125 dollars. Seems like every time I check on the price of these they go up about 20 bucks.

Compact, Easy Install, Super Bright

by Lars, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 9, 2024
A friend had this sight on his Ruger-57, and I was so impressed by the small size, I ordered one for my FN Five-seveN. The instructions were simple and clear enough, and I mounted it with no problems. The instruction manual says the sight is zeroed for 50 ft, and just by eyeballing it, that appears to be accurate. It seems to be just a tad off on azimuth, but not much - I have not taken it to the range yet to confirm zero, but it appears to be really close right out of the box. The on/off button is easy to reach with the trigger finger, and it doesn't snag on the draw from my wife-beater holster. The green laser is strong and super-bright. Will definitely get at least one more for my other carry guns.
Pros:
  • Compact; bright; great value; easy to install
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • EDC handguns

Crimson Trace Rail Master Universal Fit

by Arnie, from SD, United States Written on January 6, 2024
I gave this CT universal fit 4 stars, all thought it is a universal fit it doesn't fit a Smith & Wesson 2.0 EZ very well.
It did fit on another handgun that I own and works as it should. Will be sighting it in shortly and try shooting with it.

Tiny, bright and night, OK during day

by maleemi, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on July 24, 2023
Pro:
-Great for my "bump in the night" weapon. CT says 50ft range but with fresh batteries and clean lens it's useful to almost twice that at night (with street lights). 50 ft useful during the day in my home.
-Dot quality is similar to Streetlight TLR lasers (quite good)
-I like the on/off paddle switches, intuitive and fast
-The unit is very small. The Picatinny mount is larger than the laser unit!
-Green dot stands out and is perfect when running a red dot sight. Know which dot you are firing to. I would use the red dot version (CMR-201) if running a green dot or holo sight.

Con:
-Expensive compared to CT red laser version
-I'm not convinced the unit will stand up extensive heavy recoil and combat abuse. It should not be your primary sight.
-2 hr. battery life is sub-optimal, plan on frequent battery swaps if if you use this on a go to defensive weapon.
-Cheesy micro slotted soft metal screws for tightening to a 1913 rail. I'm looking for properly hardened eqivalant Torx or Hex screws to replace the pot metal. A quality minded company should know better.
Best Used for:
  • Things that go bump in the night

I own three of these

by Thomas, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on February 17, 2022
I have three of these, one on my Glock 19, one on my Ruger 22 pistol, and I just bought one for my Windham AR 9mm. I mounted the Crimson Trace Rail Master under the front of my 1x-4x scope, and it fits perfect there, protecting it, and easy to find to turn on with my thumb. I really like the Crimson Trace Rail Master on my AR because it's constant on, instead of just temporary where I have to constantly hold down a switch. With my Steiner scope I have three ways to sight, crosshairs, red dot, and green laser with the Crimson Trace. No need for iron sights, because the crosshairs are my backup for dead batteries. My eyes are too old for iron sights anyway, and with the Crimson Trace green laser, I can shoot from the hip if need be, which I couldn't do without a constant on switch.
Pros:
  • Constant on
  • shoot from the hip AR
  • mounts under scope
  • holds true
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • pistols & AR

  • very visible
Cons:
  • price

Love the green

by Alltheway2a, from OR, United States Written on December 17, 2020
Fit perfectly and compared to the red laser on my kimber this is 10x better. Spend the extra and you won’t be disappointed! Very compact , easy to install , and don’t forget the FREE batteries. This went on my 9mm p226.

Decision still out

by Flat Foot Joe, from CA, United States Written on June 24, 2020
Just mounted it on MP 45 looks like it fits. Need to go to the range and see if it holds up. This is my first laser so I have some things to get use to. Adjusting the lasers placement seams to be simple hope it holds its place.
