Replaced the Faxon "Gunner Profile" barrel on my S&W M&P 15 with this Criterion "Hybrid Profile" based on reviews, which were 99% positive. I've got to agree, this Criterion barrel is what one needs if you're trying to achieve ultimate accuracy, as I am. I don't mag dump, or do run and gun exercises, I'm looking for accuracy. I target shoot for the tightest groups possible, also use this gun for deer and hogs, I want it to be spot on. Using premium ammo, ie, Federal Gold Medal Match, AAC 77 gr otm, or Hornady Match, I'm able to print sub MOA groups consistently. With bulk ammo it's usually inch and a half or less, depending upon the load. If the "SHTF" I would not hesitate to to fire what ever I have on hand. This is a premium barrel and the price reflects it. However, if you want precise accuracy, the cost is reasonable.
Pros:
- Extremely accurate and well made
Best Used for:
- Whatever you deem necessary

If your looking for long life and accuracy excellent made this barrel it the one. The finish on it it's out standing. The feed ramps are very clean. I've shoot so far 500 rounds if in two occasions. Does not get hot quickly like the pencil barrels it can take some rapid fire. The gas port dimple was very easy to align set install.
