Most Helpful Positive Review Now this is a Knife!
Very impressed with this blade! CRKT has certainly become one of my favorite knife brands and this product is another fine example. Pretty sharp out of the box but after a quick sharpening it got even better. I’ve used this as an all around camping/utility knife so far, built well, good for skinning for sure. Don’t hesitate to purchase this, you won’t be disappointed.

great work knife

by ellraiser, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on February 15, 2019
Honestly I got this knife to abuse in bushcraft and in special operations. I wanted something I didn't feel bad about beating on. This knife is tough, it has a hard plastic handle that has excellent ergonomics, I think it would be a little better if it were rubberized, as it is a hard zytel type plastic, and can be a little slick. The knife shape has a deep belly and good balance. The knife is a work horse, holds an edge great and excels as a chopper or survival / bushcraft role. It does not have a squared off spine, so using it to strike fire steel may need a minor mod. The sheath in this set is excellent, well fitted for heavy retention, its a combo of kydex and heavy nylon, with Mol'e attachment points. One thing about this blade, it's handle is contoured similar to a kitchen knife or something like that, it is oddly alluring though, and I like its overall feel and performs like a champ.
Pros:
  • makes a good hard working blade, price, great sheath, tuffer finish, good balance
Cons:
  • a little slick
Best Used for:
  • camp knife/bush craft/survival

Very nice knife

Big knife, hefty handle (which I like, also like big handles on tennis racquets and ping pong handles). All of a sudden, handles on my other knives feel too small! Came sharp right out of the box. Plastic sheath has retaining clips which I didn't care for, so I cut those off. CRKT makes good knives, this one's no exception. Would've preferred leather sheath, why took one star off. Otherwise excellent buy, should last a lifetime.

This knife has a good balance and comes razor sharp. It is a large knife that would be great for skinning deer, hogs moose, caribou and elk. It has a carbon steel blade that will hold an edge. easy to sharpen compared to stainless blades. This knife was built by Ken Onion. Great knife at a low price.
Pros:
  • Carbon steel
Cons:
  • None
