Best scope for the small money.
I originally had this Centerpoint mounted on a break-action 17 caliber air rifle, these break-action pump air rifles are notorious for breaking scope reticles. It never broke. But i could not get consistent accuracy with this rig… 50 feet was one and a half inches at best.
I decided to put this scope on an old .44 magnum Ruger carbine that is my resident scope killer.
You know what? Turns out, it was the air rifle that sucked, not the scope. This relatively inexpensive Centerpoint scope (that I paid about $90 for), is the very best inexpensive optic for the money that I have. I have optics that cost more than $1500, and they are not appreciably better (in every day normal use) than this Centerpoint.
I thought for sure that when I took it out to the range mounted on the .44 Mag carbine, that the Centerpoint’s reticle would simply disintegrate, but this was not the case!
Every other optic that I have put on that .44 carbine has broken before I left the range for the day. I think perhaps because this scope is designed to survive “springer” pump pellet air rifles, it has the guts to take the .44. Happy days.
