Very nice but beware ! - Crosstac Front Sight Picatinny Rail

First, let me say that this is a very elegant solution to adding a Picatinny rail to an AR with conventional forends. Not only does it give you eight slots (most others max out at five)but it looks really nice. Others I looked ate were rectangular chunks of metal milled out to get the job done, and I'm sure they do but not with the finesse of this one. Now the reason I gave it four stars instead of five. First, I feel it's a bit overpriced. And while I'm sure some attach easily like in the video, mine didn't. Mine required a considerable amount of fitting. I had to file down both the little "tabs" that originally held the front swivel and the part itself to get the holes to line up so the locking split pin could be installed. It took a lot of trial and error to get the holes lined up correctly, an if you're not good with a file you might want to have someone that is do it for you. Once installed, it's rock solid, looks great, and I'm happy I went with this one.
