My immediate family can throw out 6 VA cards when we get together. I am the ONLY one that carried a real man's rifle, which is a M1 Garand! Everyone else used some M16 variant. Needless to say, we had MANY talks about which rifle was the best. I finally broke down and built a AR10 with a 308 barrel. I now will state that the AR design is one of the best. I am buying parts which I see are ones that you should have on hand.
When I built the AR I bought a lot of the parts from Optics Planet. I have been very happy with their service! That said, I STILL will never get rid of my M1 Garand.
