Best value in replacement ramrods

by Timoteao, Verified Owner from VT, United States Written on February 25, 2024
Without buying a OE ramrod and paying the "big bucks" , this is the best choice by far . I know a-lot of OE ramrods are "double ended" (they have threads on both ends) and these are not . However if you have a broken OE style with both ends it's easy to take one end and attach it when you cut this one to length . I used a 3/8 drill to spin the new ramrod against a hacksaw blade after I had marked it for lenght . Then once cut to length , I used the same drill to spin it against a course file and bring it down to size . I then glued (epoxied) it to the ramrod and let it set overnight . The ferrull I used was a 8:32 thread so I now have a ram-rod with both 8:32 and 10:32 threads .The stock one is 10:32 . It would be a small matter to drill a 1/16" hole crossways and pin it with a finish nail and then your worries would really be over but I think the epoxy will do for me .
