Does its job for support but the nylon edges of the velcro causes irritation and discomfort if worn for a long period of time.

A MUST if you get the ankle holster for a 9mm or .45
If you're going to ankle carry a caliber higher than .38, then you should definitely get this strap to support the weight of the ankle holster. It's easy to adjust, I put it on inside out so that there isn't a flap on the outside, but it is very easy to do and adjust.

Rock Solid Support
Gives rock solid support especially when using a larger handgun. I use this to add support when carrying a Springfield Mod2 45. Using an ankle holster has it's benefits when sitting in an area or even for driving. I can access my handgun far easier from my ankle when driving than from a 3 or 5 o'clock position on the hip.

Good, but could be better
This strap is a must if you are going to purchase the ankle holster. However, it could be improved by lining the upper part that goes around the calf by padding it with something. I have had to cut the top off an old sock and slide it up my leg. Then I put the strap around it.

Good companion for DeSantis ankle holsters
I use this support with the DeSantis Die Hard Ankle Rig Holster for a M&P Shield. It gives extra support and reduces any slippage during the day. Both the holster and the support are comfortable. I wear them over 12 hours each day. If you have a smaller leg, you may need to add an extra piece of Velcro for the wrap around band.
