Ordered the left hand 42-44 size when I was still that big. Needed to cinch it up to the tightest hole but could not because the stitching would not let me. I think I will try the 38-40. Maybe it will get here before I lose too much more weight. I had no problems getting the .45 Colt cartridges in the loops. I will keep the larger one for friends, or if I gain back the weight this winter.

Butch Cassidy belt
I purchased this belt to replace my older DeSantis belt that has been in service 15-20 years.
There are a few things that surprised my about the new belt.
1st: My old belt used much heavier leather and stitching in its construction. Also the old belt's construction/quality seems so much better. The new belt felt cheaply made.
2nd: The bullet loops seems way too tight for 44/45 bullets and almost too big for 38 bullets. I don't remember seeing anything about caliber selection when ordering.
I spaced my 45 colt shells in every other loop, still they are way too tight to be easily removed for use.
3rd: The new belt is meant for single holster use and not the best for 2 gun SASS type shooting because of all the bullet loops. You have to place the 2nd holster over the bullet loops for proper holster placement.
It works, sort of.
In conclusion, I really liked the style of this belt, but felt it was just too cheaply made. I'm planning on keeping it as a loaner for friends and family to go cowboy shooting with me. Don't get me wrong, the belt is serviceable, but my older DeSantis belt is much better in quality.
