Perfect for my precision AR where the large scope hangs over the charging handle. It does require a good tug to get it moving.

Good quality but adds friction
I was hoping to use this Hard Charger instead of converting my AR to a dedicated side charging upper. I agree with other reviews here, but in my application I am shutting off the gas to use the AR as a bolt gun. (I'm eliminating the ejection port noise for suppressed fire.) The Hard Charger would work well for initially charging the AR or clearing a malfunction, but it adds friction to the charging action. The additional mechanics add just enough friction to make it too awkward to cycle each round as you would in a bolt gun. Quality construction, but I ended up not using it in my particular bolt-type application.

Awesome device, I have swapped out my standard charging handle for these on 90% of my ARs they work great for my applications really smooth, quick access, brilliant, best out there, as far as I’m concerned.

A little bulky but solid!
It's not the most lightwieght or stream lined unit but it doesn't embarass itself either. The slight bulk does lead to a very solid feel something I never got out of the competitior to this item. It has performed excellently with subsonic and rimfire level loads in my AR. Very smooth due to two attachment points eliminating flex in the unit.

Pretty Neat
I'm a AK & HK guy, but finally put an AR together & this makes it so much easier Muscle Memory to use a side charger, reminds me of my LINCH DTS for my AK's & my HK's.

Side lever charging handle works great with my scope
Had been looking for something like this ever since I put a scope on my 5.56. This one so far is the best. It's build is solid and I feel confident it's not going to break off in my hand. It pulls straight and doesn't twist or bend at all and took only 5 minutes to install. Also like the folding handle so when putting my rifle in it case I can fold it in and when using it, it's a breeze to fold it out for use.

Exactly as advertised
The Devil Dog Concepts Hard Charger is installed easily and quickly, with no permanent modifications to the firearm required. After a couple dozen cycles of the action with good gun oil applied to sliding surfaces (a break-in, as with mechanical interface), this charging handle operates sure and smooth. Unlike a dedicated side-charging upper, this system still retains the ability to charge from the rear of the receiver if desired.

The hard charger works great and instalation took about 2 minutes. Makes loading a new mag much smoother and much faster.

Badasss side charger
Fit and finish is top notch. I love the ability to charge from the front and rear. The best alternative to avoiding proprietary side charging uppers. I am a right handed shooter and like charging from the left side, reminds me of the comfort I get from my FAL.
