You need this mount for the newer model 70 short actions! - DNZ Winchester Model 70 WSM Action 1 Inch Scope Tube

As others have stated, this is the mount that you need for the new FN produced Model 70 short actions. Just measured the spacing on my Featherweight .243. The short action hole spacing is too small so you need the slightly longer WSM mount.
