While the popper target works as advertised, make certain that it is at least 25 yds. away and also when it says .22 it means SHORT or LONG RIFLE!! Do not, I repeat, Do Not use any .22 magnums!! and especially if using a .22 mag rifle. I was fortunate that I only winged the left tip of the popper target now it has a half moon hole instead of a full hole in it. Hopefully, you'll learn from my mistake. As long as you adhere to my suggestion and the written warning on the box you'll be good to go within its limitations.
One good thing about this Popper target is that the spikes you get with it (2 spikes) are much thicker than their competitors which has 4 spikes. A 2"x4" would work if you want but don't expect it to stay aright unless you spike the wood into the ground and nail the target to the wood. A wider piece of wood is much preferred.

NOT DONE RIGHT
I HAVE SEVERAL OF THESE MADE BY SOMEONE ELSE. THEY DIDN'T MAKE ONE THIS SHAPE SO I TRIED ANOTHER BRAND. THE OTHER ONES HAVE A BASE WITH FOUR HOLES AND SPIKES TO ANCHOR TO THE GROUND. THIS ONE HAS ONLY HAS TWO HOLES AND SPIKES TO ANCHOR TO THE GROUND NEEDLESS TO SAY IT DOESN'T STAY IN PLACE AND FLOPS UP AND DOWN WHEN HIT.THE OTHER TARGETS COST LESS SO IT WASN'T THAT I PAID MORE FOR THE FOUR HOLE DESIGN.WILL NOT BUY ANYMORE FROM THIS MAKER.WILL DRILL MORE HOLES IN THIS ONE TO MAKE IT WORK.
