This product worked fine initially providing good lighting.Then it was dropped on laminate flooring from a height of 3 ft. From that point onward it has ceased to function. It appears the plastic housing is subject to failure if it is not treated gently.
Would recommend: No

CORRECTION TO MY 4 STAR REVIEW.
My order for 4 each of the SKU # DQ-FL-41-1045-41 Dorcy Rechargeable lantern
came to a total of $50.15 delivered.
I DID NOT check to current asking price for this unit prior to my first review,
and found that it now is priced at $31.39 EACH on the Optics Planet web site.
Needless to say, at that price,this unit is WAY OVER PRICED.
Therefore, at the current asking price, 1 star, Do NOT Recommend, and would NOT
have purchased these units. THE REVIEW FORM WILL NOT ALLOW 0 STARS.

Dorcy Emergency loght
Lantern is well made as all previous Dorcey products I have used.
Flashing light at power outage will save battery life. Once removed from the power grid, the unit can be used as a regular flash light.
Replacing other manufacturer's emergency units since their batteries are no longer available, and normally not replaceable. Called the maker and was told the units are designed to be "disposable" when the batteries fail!!!! Dorcy units have replaceable batteries. Down side is the lack of engineering that went into the reflector construction, resulting in an unusual light beam pattern.
