Slim's Review of DoubleStar Lower Parts Kit M-16

I've yet to install the LPK yet but have checked over the trigger, hammer, disconnector, safety selector, and the auto sear for quality control and all looks well and don't to MIL SPECS. I bought this for my dad's rifle that had the hammers notch broke off rendering his rifle just a semi auto AR. It's nice to get a LPK in a display box instead of just a bag. The OEM grip is exactly that. As long as the price stays reasonable I'll be buying one or two more LPK's from Optics. One thing to mention for those customers like me that like color inlaying their safety selectors on the right hand side(from the shooters perspective)they can do so due to a "V" shaped divot cut into the right side so you'll know with a glance on that side of the weapon if it's "Safe" or ready to go without having to flip the rifle over to see which way the selectors lever is pointing. Lots of the new cheaper LPK's now come with a little extra metal tab they sticks out to show if the weapons on "Safe" or not and is pretty much impossible to see in the dark versus the white color inlay that can be done in minutes by any do it yourselfer FYI.. Normal finger nail polish can be used to help label your lowers safety selector and even words that tell you what mode the rifles set in. And normal nail polish remover(get acetone free as it's easier on you and less harsh to your gun and FYI it'll damage any polymer it comes I to contact with... Acetone... Not acetone free nail polish)will remove the excess nail polish using a Q Tip works best. I use this technique to do all my GLOCK mags round count and caliber markings and after you do it to one mag you can't ever go back to a mag without the color inlay work. It's super cheap and just takes time to add a lot to your weapon even if it's just speed if nothing else. If your worried about quality of this LPK, don't! It's MIL SPEC and nothing to complain about in regards to the LPK or the cost. Thanks Optics!
