I bought this to convert an A2 upper with DRing, round hand guards, and gas block built into the front sight to a floating handguard with Picantinny rail. The old gas block was a very snug fit on the barrel after I took out the taper pins, and the gas tube took a good tug to come out of the block. The new gas block had two dimensional issues. The hole for the gas tube was several thousandths too tight, so I needed to drill out the hole before the gas tube could slide in. The hole for the barrel was a few thousandths too large which was less of a problem - I just needed to make sure the block stayed in alignment with the barrel as I tightened the set screws and to use a liberal amount of blue Loctite on the set screws. There is some gas leakage between the block and barrel but not enough to cause any functional problems.
