Most Helpful Positive Review Best bang for your buck
Scope came on a mossberg 6.5 creedmore. I had it zeroed at 100 yards in less than a box of ammo. Thing is a tack driver and the scope works flawlessly. The dead ringer is a 10 out of 10 for me. I’ll be putting one on my other rifles as well.
Most Helpful Negative Review worst scope I ever used
This scope came packaged with my Mossberg Patriot camo 308 from wally world. I love the rifle, its a great all around hunting rifle. The scope however is junk, no focus or parallax adjustments. Target image is blurry so much so that zeroing it on an moa target is near impossible. After getting i...

Game over man

by dmk, from IL, United States Written on November 22, 2025
Came on my Mossberg patriot .400 legend. Very disappointed in this scope! I had hoped to use it for hunting, but I can't get it to adjust. For about 50 clicks turrets do not change a thing. I was losing my mind at the range because I kept hitting the same spot at 25 meters over and over again despite adjusting 15-20 clicks at time sometimes, then it would suddenly jump to the other side of the target. To top it off, scope and crosshair tend to be blurry at high settings. It doesn't come with any cloth, so don't take it out in humid or rainy situations or you will constantly be wiping fog off with your fingers.

Dead ringer is known for their crossbow stuff. You're better off going with a company that manufactures actual scopes. I think any name brand scope with the same magnification range and price will do leagues better and have more modern features and accessories.

know how to use your scope

by Eric, from NY, United States Written on December 7, 2024
I have 2 rifles with these scopes and have no issues, if its blurry adjust it.... at the eye piece end you loosen the locking ring and turn the eye piece til its clear then relock it so it stays, you may have to tread it a ways out because they come all the way in new.

2024 deer hunt

by Scott, from WI, United States Written on November 27, 2024
Bought my daughter a Mossberg 6.5. At first is seemed like a good scope. We confirmed 0 back in September. Well guess what, 4 days into the season it is now 2 inches low at 50 yards and the reticles are not straight, sitting at a 45 degree angle. Very disappointed

Mossberg Why?

by Treblemaker, from MI, United States Written on November 19, 2024
Recently purchased a Mossberg Patriot chambered in 450 Bushmaster. Scope is blurry and horrible. Was able to sight in around 50yds so could use for opening day. Didn't expect much for a scope of this price point but did expect it at least to be clear. Reached out to Dead Ringer to see if they will at least replace, but looking over all the reviews the product is just trash. Shame on me for not doing more research on scope. Mossberg what were you thinking? Stay away if your looking at this scope.

The product just is not there

by Buckman, from NY, United States Written on October 10, 2024
I bought a gun and it has a dead ringer sculpin. We didn’t have a bore Seitrr and that’s OK we’ll figure that’s not gonna be good. Mom went out bought one it was shoe and high and right we zeroed it in at 25 yards or so see how it goes and then we shot it. It was low until the left it was shoot in a group within an inch and just and just wasn’t shooting and then it wouldn’t move after that Skopas take everything so the scope just doesn’t work I would not recommend buying one you really just can’t cited in

You get what you pay for…

by Daniel, from TX, United States Written on November 26, 2023
The scope came on my Mossberg .308. I took the rifle out to zero the scope for my hunt the following weekend. My first five shots were all over the paper. I didn’t expect the scope to be zeroed, but shooting from a bench rest for zero, I expected consistent shot grouping. I couldn’t even adjust the scope to begin zeroing with that shot group. I checked the bench rest, re-tightened all the straps and clamps, and tried again. Sixth shot was on the paper; seventh shot, the crosshairs shifted a little; eighth shot, the crosshairs had become X-hairs; and the last two shots were just fired to clear the mag and burn the ammo. I had planned on taking the scope off of the .308 and putting it on one of my plinkers after the hunt, but it couldn’t survive zeroing. Garbage scope, don’t waste your money.

  • None

Do not purchase this scope

by Completely disappointed, from MN, United States Written on October 21, 2023
Purchased my daughter a mossberg 243 youth rifle that had this scope. First gun for her and her first time shooting a rifle. Myself and her grandmother, both experienced hunters and my daughter all tried to sight in this scope and we all shot in the exact same spots no matter how much the scope was adjusted and in what way we adjusted it. Way to take the confidence and excitement out a first time hunter!! Do not buy this scope complete waste of time and money!

Save your money, run away!

by Smarter now., from WI, United States Written on May 1, 2023
This came as a rifle/scope combo, (anyone want to guess which rifle?) and at 100yd the target could not be seen because everything was out of focus and blurry. Optics Planet should be ashamed to have this on their website. I would expect anybody listing this piece of junk to PAY ME to take this out of their inventory for them.
Best Used for:
  • Target for sighting in a real rifle scope.

This scope is TRASH!

by Freezer, from PA, United States Written on November 4, 2022
Don't waste your money! Why does Mossberg use this scope? I bought a Mossberg Patriot Bantam for my wife, this scope came with the rifle, and it is pure junk. I isn't clear and doesn't focus. I'd rather they sell the rifle without the scope.

Worst scope ever!!!!

by Allen Beattie, from SC, United States Written on October 30, 2022
Tried numerous times to sight in at different yardages. Scope will not hold sighting. Blurry as heck!!! Can’t give it away. Mine came on a Mossberg 30.06 but after missing three deer quickly recognized that this was a cheap scope. Bottom barrel of scopes. Has Mossberg lost its mind? I now have to purchase another scope.feel absolutely robbed! Stay away people.
