sunguardian's Review of E-Lander Mags AR-15 .450 Bushmaster 7 Round Rifle Magazine

The good: can hold 8 rounds, smooth and sleek so insertion is easy, full metal, easy removal floor plate, slight curve aids holding the mag, high quality spring metal. The undecided: stagger load design follower. The bad: front of magazine is straight -no half circle cutout, the follower is not anti-tilt by far - it dips in about an inch or more, the feed lips are ajar so the cartridges get stuck sometimes.

I had a heck of a time at the range - constant jams. The main issue was that the ammo sat way back in the mag so when you drive it into the receiver, the top casing would interact with the bolt catch protrusion mean to activate bolt last open function (when the follower touches it upon last cartridge being spent). The naturally heavy recoil of 450bm would push all the cartridges forward so sometimes things did cycle correctly. But not reliably at all.

So I did the following fixes: opened the mag and reversed the spring front to back so the tip now supports the front of the follower; tapped the two tabs in the back of the mag so they hold the cartridges farther forward, exposing the follower correctly so it can interact with the bolt catch, hammered in the lips with a hard plastic hammer so they hold the cartridges tightly

Problems solved, but there are better mags for less money, like the ACS 7rnds which is an absolutely well constructed mag
