Most Helpful Positive Review Eberlestock G4 Operator
I can honestly say that this pack is the best tactical gear bag I have every owned. Its size and versatility make it an incredible companion on long hikes, tactical operations, or just throwing a bunch of stuff in for a weekend trip. The gun scabbard included is an incredible plus. I can fit a 7"...

Most Helpful Negative Review CAUTION: Product misrepresented with old photos!
I’ve been a loyal customer for many years now, however my purchase of the Eberlestock G4 and the MISREPRESENTED product photos posted on the site have been quite the disappointment. The photos of all the various colors of the Eberlestock G4 Operator show robust and sturdy MOLLE webbing attachments -...

A Tank of a Pack

by Nathan, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on March 14, 2025
The Operator is an absolute tank of a pack. It says it's a 5 day pack but if you pack right, I can see using this for longer time out. For size reference, the scabbard can hold an ar10 with 24" barrel and a Fab Defense non moving raps stock. It's loaded down and heavy. I sew a little bit and can tell they have made this pack sturdy if you don't overdue it at the seams like everything else.
Pros:
  • Comfortable
  • Sturdy
  • tactical
  • Large
  • Multiday pack
  • Tacticool too
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • camping
  • backpackers
  • Multiday shooting
  • Military snipers
  • Tactical backpack enthusiasts
  • Hikers

It is a wonderful pack

by HRUBL, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on September 29, 2024
Very sturdy pack. Throw it, drop it, bang it up. No problem there.
- Plenty of MOLLE. On the top, bottom, sides and the inside. Very versatile and expandable pack.
- Crazy nice straps. Eberlestock is known for being incredibly comfortable, and this pack doesn't disappoint.
- Internal divider is removable, and actually functional. I'm able to keep my heavy stuff at the top of the bag without it dropping during use.
- Although the bag looks smaller that expected (more on that later,) it holds a ridiculous amount of gear.
- External 3L hydration pouches save on internal space, and if you do have a leak, your gear stays dry.
- Very sturdy zippers. They don't look like they'll be breaking anytime soon.

Fantastic Pack

One of the most comfortable bags I've used so far and I can pack enough gear to live out of it. Planning on picking up another one soon.

Fantastic Pack

by Frank, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on April 26, 2024
Long story short if all you could have was one bag, this will do it all. Holds plenty of gear for several days, well thought out design, and the weapon scabbard holds any weapon you would need.

Superior range bag

by PaKane, from LA, United States Written on January 20, 2024
I was using a hiking 55 liter back pack for a range/match bag. It took many add ons to make useful and applicable but still lacked enough pockets. I had researched field back packs and decided Eberlestock operator added a little more volume and greatly increased pocket count. Also the rifle holder was a plus that I could use when I transition to longer hiking matches. After receiving, I was able to adjust it per the Eberlestock video. I am short waisted but it still had enough adjustment to fit well. I have taken to the range 3 times and everytime I note the improvement in “everything has a place and everything in place” when needing to grab some range need. Knee pads, front bag, mags, plugs, muffs, tripod, etc. are all where they always are. No longer jobbing my hand blindly into a large sac to rummage around by feel for hard to find equipment. I definitely recommend buying eberlestock products. Plenty of buckles/straps to tighten when needed. The strap adjustment tail roll ups with Velcro to limit strap tail length is nice and handy. The internal pals and compartment lid internal pals is nice to add smaller bags and then have that pocket/pouch available when main bag compartment open offers excellent expansion without the addition of overall dimensions. There are two straps that I haven’t discovered their use. One Con: straps or pockets intended use guide would be nice and help maximize functionality and application of all the bag features. I am still discovering new uses e...

Compression straps failed

Compression strap stitching failed after the first few weeks of use. The pack was not over loaded, just snug. For an expensive pack like this I expect more.

  • Space
  • Plenty of space

Great pack for short distance.

by Andy, from AK, United States Written on September 1, 2021
Really awesome pack if you aren’t going over 5 or 8 miles. In a day. The only reason I say that is because the pack itself is just a tad heavy. That’s really all I have to say. Great pack and I will bring it back out later on this year

Gunslinger 2 and the g4 operator

by Black phoenix, from CA, United States Written on April 19, 2018
I have both packs , both are great packs . The gunslinger 2 is probably my favorite pack .the gunslinger 2 is more versatile, you can use the compression straps and it could blend in if you want to carry it around town with books and a computer . And if the shtf it can definitely be that pack for you wether it be urban survival ( inner city or in the mountains ) both have a hidden rifle scabbard . Depending on the rifles you can pack 3 or 4 rifles inside , if you choose leverguns you probably can pack 7 rifles. With the right set up , chose of items , your skill set, your load out on your vest and your battle belt , your pouches on the outside of your pack , you can definitely turn a gunslinger 2 into your bug out bag !!! The operator is a great bug out bag or if you're going out hiking or camping for 30 or 60days you want the operator ! It's heavy but once you put it on your back and adjust the straps you don't feel the weight .both are great packs , it just depends on your mission !
Pros:
  • Great pack ,a lot of room , rifle scabbard ,you can store a lot , the operator is a big gunslinger 2
Cons:
  • A bit heavy until you adjust the straps and at that point you dont feel the weight
Best Used for:
  • Bug out bag,
