Most Helpful Positive Review Worth the buy
When unpacked, is nice and compact especially with being able to fold away the gun case but can fit a decent amount of gear inside. Rifle case is nice and large for longer rifles, was able to fit in my 48' bolt action no worries due to the extendable top section. The belt pad is a good addition too that one would usually have to buy separately.

Great Backpack!

by Jeff, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on February 28, 2019
This pack is awesome! I had a gunslinger 2 pack and sold it, because it was to heavy and I didn't like the metal frame. The GS05M is only 5lbs 6oz compared to the gunslinger 2 which is over 7lbs. The GS05M is a simple version with out all the bells and whistles of the gunslinger 2. It is bomb proof and proven in war time operations. I'm glad I purchased the GS05M after having both gunslinger packs. The gunslinger 2 is also an awesome backpack, but in my opinion wasn't my preferred pick when comparing the two. You can't go wrong purchasing either pack, it all depends on which one fits you best and if your willing to carry the extra weight.
Pros:
  • Simple design
  • Bomb proof quality
Cons:
  • None for me
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Overnight Hike

Carry-it-all hunting pack

by Kevin, from TX, United States Written on December 12, 2014
Took this out stalk hunting and loaded it up carrying the pop up blind, chair, plenty of food and water and other supplies. Plenty of straps to fasten everything down with. Hiked several miles in and didn't get the usual back strain when I used only the shoulder straps the carry the gear. The pack held everything close in and load balanced on hips. Too bad the hunt was a bust.
