Most Helpful Positive Review Old Guy - Elk Hunt
I recently used this pack on a two week hiking and Elk hunt and have a love hate relationship with the pack. In the smaller mode it is heavy for a day pack and bulky. However, carrying heavy Elk quarters over 5 miles off a Colorado mountain was very comfortable and easy to balance the load. I am 64 years old and was not sure about this pack because of the weight, In fact as a day pack it is comfortable but too heavy. While I love the concept and will use it again for a day pack I would go with something lighter that has a rifle carrier. I would recommend this pack if weight was not an iss...

New bow hunter

by Richnewcast, from MT, United States Written on April 8, 2023
At 63 and starting to learn bow hunting I spent a lot of time researching and looking at packs. This particular pack is on the heavy side but I like the open pouch to put a game bag in. Jus seems to make more sense. I really like that even as small as I am (5’7” now) the pack doesn’t stick up over my head. I feel like I’ll be able to shoot my bow with pack on. I’m on a pretty tight budget with the economy being what it is and I scored this pack for under 300 on optics planet. Haven’t carried a load so I’ll update when the snow clears and I can hike with it

Great pack. Great service.

Order was easy. Arrived in great shape. Sturdy and comfortable pack. Haven’t had a chance to use it yet but the adjustable fit is simple to use and the pack feels comfortable on my back. I thought it came with the zipper panel but it doesn’t. Very happy with the purchase.

Just One Backpack

by Steve, from WA, United States Written on December 14, 2015
I got this backpack and the end of hunting season, so I really won't get to really test it until next Fall. Very happy with it upon first inspection. Way more room that I thought it would have when expanded, and good room/access when in closed position. Looking forward to using it and adding on accessories!!! My goal is to use this to be able to get one boned deer and or 1/2 a boned out elk (if I can handle that much weight). Seemingly endless options to add more room, water bag, rain cover and more... looking like this will be used for a very long time

Great rifle daypack

by Ridge Runner, from NM, United States Written on September 4, 2014
I bought this pack for one reason, carry a rifle and haul meat (elk and mule deer). I am a guide and hunter. I tried some lighter packs with other accessories (kifaru gun bearer to carry a rifle, but they just could not compare to having the built in scabbard. The padding in the bag is excellent. I tried my buddies JP9 Blue Widow, great bag but a little large and heavy by time I added the scabbard. I am 5'10" and 200 lbs and the smaller frame fits me well, and will carry very well. I also owned an X2 great day pack but not enough padding when loaded down. Very versatile and I primarily hunt from the vehicle and wanted a pack that can haul a large load on the way out. I have hauled 1/2 of a deboned elk for my buddy and it worked great, never easy but comfortable. I still use a smaller lighter pack for bow hunting, but if you use a rifle hands down the best option.
