Most Helpful Positive Review Great set up for the price, these are my go too's for 1911 trigger job
I love using the Ed Brown parts. I have usually just bought the hammer and sear but this time grabbed the kit. I like the look and feel of the hammer over most stock stuff that feels or looks like mim or cast. One note that I have is that I usually have to replace the safety with the kit, and you do have to "fit" a safety when you install it. I have this setup on some competition pistols and can tune the trigger to a crips ~2 lbs, and also can tune it a little heavier for others but keep that crisp break by tuning the 3 leaf.

Needed to replace a broken shear and why not do the whole assembly on a gun I didn't have a timeline on.
Pros:
  • Better quality parts than what came out of the gu
Cons:
  • None

Awesome trigger

Great kit but did not come with hammer strut pin. Only part is was lacking. Why?? My trigger was originally 6.7 pounds. Terrible right! This set it to 4.6 lbs without anything but being installed. Great weight for drop in. Besides, if you want to do a trigger job on a 1911, most gunsmith’s will use this kit or the spring parts in it.
Pros:
  • Bulletproof parts and great fitment
Cons:
  • No hammer strut pin
Best Used for:
  • Better drop in trigger or achieving excellent gunsmith trigger pull and weight
Would recommend: Yes

Ed Brown 1911 Trigger Pull Kit

by Clay Faulkner, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on July 28, 2024
I have used the Ed Brown sear and hammer kit before when replacing short or out of spec sears. They are pretty much install and use. Some adjustment of the Sear Spring might be needed to achieve the desire pull weight. I have found this combination to produce a crisp, clean trigger pull.
Pros:
  • Ease of use
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • 1911/2011
Would recommend: Yes
