Perfect upgrade - Ed Brown Products 1911 Two-Piece Guide Rod

I built a 1911 Commander, and it came with a one piece full length guide rod. I'm a fan of full length guide rods, so I was pleased when I opened the package. Well that guide rod requires you to compress the recoil spring onto the guide rod and insert a small pin through a small hole while keeping the spring compressed. That was a lot of work, and they didn't include the pin in the build kit, so I had to manufacture one. The whole process of taking the slide off and pulling the guide rod and recoil spring was a 15-20 minute evolution. I bought this to replace the one piece guide rod, and is was well worth the money spent. Now taking the slide off, and removing the guide rod and recoil spring is a matter of 1 minute.
