I use the EGW Picatinny rails on several rifles, all Savage target rifles except this one for my only Remington. These EGW rails are precision made & finished; they all fit quite well, and are quite reasonably priced compared with other similar rails. The Torx screws are much appreciated, too. By the way, I always couple the EGW rails with Burris Signature Zee rings. Surely a perfect combination for my purposes.

I ordered the first rail from Optics Planet via internet. After order was processed and sent I checked the order and it stated that I ordered the LA rail instead of the SA I intended to order. I placed a call to Optics Planet and the customer service rep confirmed it was a LA rail being sent. So I placed an order with her to order the SA rail. A couple days later I checked the order and again it stated I ordered a LA rail. So now I realize it was not my mistake to begin with. I made another call to Optics Planet and stated my case. The customer service rep informed me after speaking with someone for a while. That Optics Planet did not carry the left handed short action rail for the Rem 700. The website was wrong and I assume Optics Planet's ordering system was wrong as well for a CSR to order the wrong item as well.
I contacted EGW about their rails and they informed me, they no longer have left and right handed versions of this rail. They now cut each rail to accommodate left or right actions.
So after this ordeal I placed an order for this rail and the Burris Tact Med Mounts, which are great as well, paid more but got what I needed.
I will not send these items back to Optics Planet, the product is great, maybe I can justify buying another rifle and scope to fit the rail and mounts I have sitting around.

Good fit between M700 and Burris Xtreme tactical rings. Shooting 1/2 MOA groups of three on the first day.
Pros: price

This is a very good rail for the price and works great on my long-range .243 rig on a McMillan A-5 stock. I'm very pleased with the product. It isn't as well made as a Badger Tactical rail, but for the price it is a great value
Pros: Great price, quality construction
Cons: Not as well machined as much more expensive products

Pros: Good quality for the money scope mount
Cons: None, EGW makes good products for the money

Good rail on a budget. I will probably purchase another.
