Most Helpful Positive Review Great Scope!!! Never Buying Vortex Again!!!!!
Wow! Where did this company come from? I bought this scope for a project gun because of the price and was blown away by the quality! This thing tracks perfectly and even tracks better than my Vortex PST that is many times the cost! The glass is crystal clear and the everything about it just screams quality! If this is what I am getting for less than $500 from Element I am excited to see what their "Higher End" optics bring to the table. I know this, I am an Element customer for LIFE ! I will be replacing all my glass with Element over time. Seriously, if you want a Solid Optic and don't want t...

stiff focus adjustment

by sssssnake, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on March 9, 2025
I really like everything about the Helix. Only thing I could find wrong is the extreme stiffness of the parallax knob. It's usable but you have to grab it like you are opening a jar for the first time and it's kind of got some sharp edges. Fortunately there is a throw lever available and I'll be using that like I've had to do with another scope I use (Vortex). I'm happy with the purchase just had to go a little farther to make it right.

Close, but...

by dukunter, from IL, United States Written on November 13, 2024
I like everything about the scope right up until you get into the higher power ranges. At the top of the scale, it just can't compete. In reality, for this price, that shouldn't surprise anyone. There has to be little give and take to get the price where it is. However, for what you pay, I would recommend either Arken or Athlon. It tracks well, appears to be well made, has great audible and tactile turret movement, and isn't too bulky or heavy. But if you have 24x power and can't really use it, why is it there.

I currently have it on my Springfield Waypoint .22. When my daughters and I go shooting, they prefer the Arken over over the Element, and the Athlon over the Arken. So you get two generations of preference in this review.

Do I regret the purchase? No. The glass is great until you get to the higher powers, so it's still very usable. I wouldn't buy another one, but I'm definitely keeping this one.

As expected

by Dummy, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on October 7, 2024
If you are looking for a good optic to use in nrl or prs base class this is the best option in my opinion. This is my 3rd element helix All 3 have come from optics planet. The 2nd one i had to send back due to a faulty turret that i noticed while boresighting. Optics planet has an easy return/exchange policy with a quick turnaround
Pros:
  • Price
  • Holds zero
  • good tracking
  • Effwctive easy to use zero stop
  • Good glass quality at the price
Cons:
  • Reticle can be hard to see at lower magnification against a dark target
Best Used for:
  • Anything that you would want ffp for

Budget scope

by Joshua, from MD, United States Written on September 30, 2023
I’ve already on some element optics scopes a little higher end I figured I would give a budget scope a try and I was not let down This is a wonderful scope for the price. The glass is great. No matter what I put it through. It always hold zero. I am only using it on a 50 Cal airgun But is doing his job perfectly know pretty much every scope that I own is from element optics they have something for everybody and every price point they got you covered all the way around and the warranty is excellent but you probably will never need it
Best Used for:
  • anything

Awesome scope with a reasonable price tag

by Bastiaan, from Gelderland, Netherlands Written on August 6, 2023
I just started shooting again after being out of the service for a couple of years. I started with an FX Impact M3 so I can just shoot in my backyard. When I bought the rifle I wanted a decent quality scope without spending an equal amount on the optics as I did for the rifle. After trying a bunch of scopes at Krale in The Netherlands, I quickly narrowed my shortlist to the Element Optics range, and finally settled on the Helix 6-24x50 FFP with APR-1C MRad reticle. The clarity, field of vision and build quality of this scope stood out by far compared to other scopes in a similar price range. With this scope I was easily able to stack .22 JSB 18gr pellets in a 1.5cm group at 50m after zeroing in, which was done within 10 minutes. I can't imagine needing any other scope in the near future for my intended use (backyard plinking @ <50m and occasional 25m, 50m and 100m indoor range).
Pros:
  • Price
  • Clarity
  • Build quality
  • field of view
  • reticle
  • documentation
Cons:
  • eye relief can be tricky to get right
Best Used for:
  • serious beginner
  • mid- and long range

Works ok just feels cheap

by wayne, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on August 1, 2023
I guess I expected too much, it does work ok. However it just feels flimsy. In saying that its a fairly clear site picture. I guess I just expected more from a low priced scope. The windage adjustment is NOT accurate, and the turrets feel like they wont stand the test of time. If you are looking for a toy and are not a serious shooter, then this one will do. If you're serious about precision shooting I would look elsewhere. I am keeping it, I am just placing it on a loaner air rifle. I did give it 4 stars since I did get 100 off in the form of a gift certificate. If I paid full price it would have been returned with a 3 star rating. It is a really good looking scope I just wish it worked and felt as good as it looks.
Pros:
  • Clear
Cons:
  • feels a bit cheap
Best Used for:
  • plinking

Awesome entry level scope for various shooting needs.

by Charles Shanaberger, from PA, United States Written on July 30, 2023
This was my first Element optics scope, and also the cheapest of the 3 I currently own. I presently resides on top of my Impact M3 for 100 YD benchrest use, which it does good at. The optics are above average for this price class, but are by no means top level. The areas this scope excels at it it's tracking and turret system which is way above it's price class. The scope once zeroed, and with the use of a good ballistic app and range finder is just dead on every time. The Zero stop is a nice featureI have come to depend on and look for in all rifle scope purchases now, once you get used to using it, the feature becomes very useful in situations were you are distracted or stressed and cannot remember how many revolutions you have made.

My biggest issue with this scope is the reticle is very small, good for hitting tiny targets at distance, not so good for quick target acquisition.
Pros:
  • excellent turrets and tracking
  • An above average scope in it's price class
Cons:
  • Reticle is Tiny, not good for fast target acquisition.
  • Glass is good but not outstanding.
Best Used for:
  • Benchrest in well lit environments
  • Target\varmint shooting at distance where no video or Photo's are taken through the scope.

Nexus FFP 6-24x50

by JW, from Australia Written on July 25, 2023
I have the Nexus 6-24x50 FFP and also an Arken EPL4 6-24x50. The Arken has a halo issue from 20x power onwards. The Element is much clearer at the same power. Both scopes are clear. Just the Element is better at the higher power

Very accurate and repeatable

by Brian, from MI, United States Written on April 27, 2023
I have this scope on an airgun and I am constantly adjusting for distance. This scope is very repeatable. When I adjust back and forth for wind and distance I can count on the movement every time. Click my 25y zero. Right on. Click up to 100y. Right on. Click down to 50 dead on. Once you figure out your adjustment the scope repeats very well.
Pros:
  • Great Value and Quality
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • I have it on an airgun
