Most Helpful Positive Review Best of the best

Yes, this is expensive 22LR, but it is not price gouging. I can see where someone used to buying 500 rounds for the price of 2 boxes of Tenex might think such, but they would be wrong. This stuff fills a nitch and fills it great. Some of us take the 22LR seriously. This is a fantastic match roun...

Most Helpful Negative Review inconsistent

I have to agree with Dusty, and disagree as well. My Tikka T1x is very tough to match ammo with, and shoots CCI and SK Standard plus better than Eley Tenex. I even did lot testing, upgraded to a nice XRS chassis, jard trigger that is about 3 ounces pull weight, and still having light strikes. Even b...

Velocity standard deviation for 20 rounds 17.1

by Richard Monell, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on March 25, 2026

ELEY Tenex. Pretty bad. My control used was CCI SV with a SD of 11.4 for 20 rounds (5 5 round groups. Not what I expected for around four times the cost. Tested in a Ruger Precision.

Great ammo. Maybe the most accurate there is.
Plus, OP had it when nobody else did.

ELEY TENEX RIMFIRE AMMO

by mohammed, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on September 27, 2024

UNLESS YOU'VE BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK, YOU ARARE OF THIS HIGH QUALITY LINE OF AMMO.
ONE SHOULD ALWAYS PICK SOME UP WHEN PRESENTED WITH AN OPPORTUNITY.
AND WHEN THE SELLER IS 'OPTICS PLANET', THIS BECOMES A NO - BRAINER.
EVEN A DIMWITKRAT CAN UNDERSTAND THIS.

Eley Tennex

My Vudoo V22 groups 1/4 at 50 yds constantly. Only complaint is cost.

Definitely Underwhelmed

by Dusty Courtland, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on August 7, 2023

For the cost and as much as I’ve seen people brag about these, they were garbage. I have a custom Tikka Tx1 that I use for NRL 22 Matches; so if you have a Tikka, stay away from these. I’ve had better groups from CCI standard. On a different note, Wolf Match Extra is Sub MOA at 100yards.

Pros:

Box was fancy.

Cons:

Way too expensive

Best Used for:

Guys with too much money.

Good groupings

by Kimber54, from OK, United States Written on October 25, 2022

Built a custom Ruger 10/22.Volquartson bolt, Fedderson 18"custom bull barrel with a Tactical Solution muzzle brake. Shot groups of 5, the best group was .47 and the worst was .56 not bad for a semi auto and I'm not a match shooter. I would use these if I was a match shooter but too expensive for squirrel hunting and punch holes in paper.

Pros:

Shoot good groups

Cons:

Price to high for 22lr

Best Used for:

target

Not impressed

by Egor, from WA, United States Written on February 24, 2022

Surprisingly I'm not impressed with this ammo. It all depends on the firearm and in my case I had better results with many other kinds. I tested this ammo with Ruger Mark IV Competition, Mark IV 22/45, Mark IV with Tac-Sol barrel, and Browning Buck Mark (forgot the model name). All shots were supported on the table, indoor.

Great Shooting ammo. But pricey

by Stinkfinger, from VA, United States Written on September 24, 2021

Seems like I got lucky with this lot of ammunition. I’m giving 5 stars for the ammo. But I’m pissed for how long it took to receive. I’m still waiting on my 44 mag ammo from optics planet, I ordered at a reasonable price during the pandemic.

Pros:

Super accurate and consistent

Cons:

Packaging once opened Brownsville fall out if not secured with a rubber band

Best Used for:

Match shooting

Tenex Eley Ammunition

by Rick, from FL, United States Written on July 17, 2021

Great ammo but price is high compared to another site that lists the same ammo at $18.75 a box. I love shopping with Optics Planet but can't spending significantly more for same ammo. This ammo provides the tight grouping required for .22 rimfire bench competition. My hope is more competitive pricing will be available in the future.
