J e Tobey's Review of Elite Survival Systems Core-Defender Belly Band Holsters

I usually carry by shoulder holster, most all purchased here. On one carry gun, I use a belt holster, a DeSantis purchased here. It is for my "N" frame S&W .44 Mag. 2.5 inch Aluminum, Titanium and Stainless steel MONSTER. Two other carry guns are a full size custom 1911 and a Model 66 S&W Stainless 2.5 barreled .357 Mag I have had for over 35 years. All have Crimson Trace.

Frankly, I decided to try this belly band because of the very reasonable price and because I have to wear a back brace all of the time. ( football and racing injuries)
FIRST!!! The waist size on these is generous. I have a 40 waist without a big gut and the Large WAIST size band could be tighter- maybe it is because the rig settles just under my ribcage. I intend to exchange the XL waist second one I ordered for a medium. It should be perfect. Also, I am a LEFTY and the simplicity of flipping it over for my needs is just genius.

The belly band is very comfortable, but the size "large" gun pockets hold any of those three carry guns in close with no outward sag away from my body, thus showing no "print!" NONE. And the guns are held safely and firmly- no need to put a hand to your side when running.

I could not be more pleased. A couple of years ago I went to a carry permit class just to see what my Criminal Law and Law Enforcement college students were being taught. ( In the 70's I used to partner-teach Carry Class and I have had a permit since 1974). Well, in that class, the teacher recommended this kind of carry system and I was skeptical. I am now ready to eagerly recommend this belly band holster rig to anyone who asks. It is worth double the price based upon performance.

  • comfortable,
  • secures weapon
  • nearly invisible
Cons:
  • None.
Best Used for:
  • routine carry
  • ultimate concealment
