Rob's Review of Elite Survival Systems Core-Defender Elastic Belly Band Holster
I purchased this item as it looked more substantial than older types that did not work so well. The best fit among my pistols is one of our pair of S&W LadySmith compact revolvers held in the right hand cross-draw pocket. Most photos I see of 'belly bands' show the band worn low, even tucking under the waist band a bit. I wear this band higher so that the butt of the pistol is maybe 4in below the armpit. This places the pistol near to a shoulder holster position. I am 5ft/11in and 165lbs. In relaxed use, the butt of the pistol tends to lean forward in the pocket, allowing the butt to print through your shirt, an undesireable event. A little work with the sewing kit and 4-5 short lines of stiches now holds the pistol firmly in a vertical position with no print through. These pockets can be easily brought to a custom fit for whatever in this manner. I wear this band over a tee shirt and under a flannel shirt. The band sticks to the tee shirt and never slips. With the top 3 flannel buttons open the grip is easily accessed in cross-draw. I have worn this rig for at least a week now from the couch to snow removal and it stays in place with no movement and enough comfort to forget about it. Family has so far not detected it. Highly recommended as modified!
