I took this one down to the bottom of our South Island on a weeklong hunting trip. First time I opened it the outer zip pull came off in my hand. Using just the inner pull at night caused the zip to snag the lining all the time..very frustrating when its a cold night. Thermal efficiency was average...

Thin, Thin, Thin
This Recon 4 14*F bag has less than 1/2" of loft per side. It is a 50*F bag at best. Not even close! The shell and zipper are excellent, too bad the insulation is non-existent. The North Face Cat's Meow is a 20* bag with at least 2 1/2" of loft per side, and is considered a solid rated bag.

- great tough shell and zipper

- no insulation!

Elite Survival
This is the best sleeping bag I've purchased and I've been through a lot of them over the years. Easy to roll and repack, compresses easily, and quality materials. Well worth the money and OP has the best prices.

Excellent bag
This was probably one of the best sleeping bags we have purchased over the years. Well worth the money compared to some of the other more expensive brands out on the market. Optics Planet also had the best pricing.
