Strong Springs

by Andon, Verified Owner from ID, United States Written on February 11, 2025
Handgun mags seem to come down to strong springs and well designed flowers. ETS magazines seem to be built cheaply but surprisingly I have yet to have any issues. Wish they had metal feed lips but these are at least as good at Magpul glock style mags and better than Korean knock offs and way better than promag in my experience.
Pros:
  • Quality for price
Cons:
  • No metal components
Best Used for:
  • range practice

Cost Effective

Great price. I would take ETS mags over Korean 30 rounders or Promag garbage. That being said ETS magazines are also not what you would probably want in a real confrontation. But for a range practice these mags have run surprisingly well. I have yet to have any hiccups while running them. They do not have metal feed lips so I'm pretty sure that the feed lips will wear over time. And even just loading this up you can see the feed lips stretch further and further apart as they have more tension. I was only able to get 38 rounds of 9 in this magazine. I may have been able to use a hydraulic press to get the last 2 in there but I was worried I'd either blow out the base plate or the feed lips so 38 it is. Still with 38 it cycled flawlessly.
Pros:
  • Cost effective
  • strong spring
  • Witness so you can see how many rounds are left
  • Fairly reliable
Cons:
  • Plastic Construction
  • No metal feed lips
  • Seemingly flimsy base plate
  • 38 Rounds instead of 40
Best Used for:
  • range practice
