Great close range sight. - EOTech 517 A65 Holographic Weapon Sight (HWS) Buttons On Left Side w/ Raised 7mm Base (517.A65/1) for M4 & M16

This is the first Eotech sight I have purchased, and I am not disappointed. It was very easy to mount and get sighted - I barely had to move the adjustments to get zeroed. It works perfectly for a lower third co-witness with my buis and A2 front sight. It seems on the big and heavy side, but in reality most of it mounts low to the rail, making it more compact than most scopes. I have tried it out on targets and on varmints, and I have to say that it is the fastest sight I have shot on a rifle. The circle dot works great for acquisition - no hunting for the reticle and the center dot is small enough not to obscure the target. I wish it would stay on the last brightness setting, instead of defaulting to the mid setting. I like to turn it off, when not shooting, so I have to return it to the setting I desire. I really like this sight for close range out to 100yds. I've made some close range shots with it on an M4 length carbine on moving targets that I would normally reserve for a shotgun. The Eotech definitely increases my capability with a rifle at close ranges.
Pros: easy to mount and sight-in, wide range of brightness settings, super fast target acquisition.
Cons: somewhat large and heavy, resets to mid range brightness setting upon turn off/on.
