Recommended, but with caveats - EOTech XPS2 Holographic Weapon Sight

Great high quality product but with a couple distractions. The reticle is somewhat fuzzy/indistinct, at least to my eyes. Also, the optic turns on at full reticle brightness, something I think would be distracting to a user in darker conditions. This appears to be by design though I did not really spend much time trying to work with it since I could not get past the fuzzy reticle. Can't really complain about the battery life since that is a well-known well-disclosed product attribute. But low battery life was something I was willing to live with in order to get a Eotech's highly regarded circle dot reticle. Holosun's relatively new (and my recently purchased) HS503GU circle-dot optic has a significantly clearer and more solid/distinct reticle, at least to my eyes. Though not "combat-proven", the Holosun has motion detection, last brightness setting, Aimpoint-like battery life (claimed), a better warranty (as written), NV capability (claimed), and the circle-dot reticle, for about half the price.
