Gator's Review of EOTech Vudu 1-10x28mm Rifle Scope, 34mm Tube, First Focal Plane

Big fan of the Eotech 5 x 25. It just edges out my leupold Mark 5HD 3-18 in resolution and has a much more forgiving eye box. Spent the last hour and a half trying to adjust the new Eotech 1 to 10 power with Sr5 reticle without success. Was only able to get the center portion of the reticle in focus at 10 power while Everything else was out of focus, no matter how much time spent twisting the diopter focus ring I was unable to get anything but the center 1/3 in focus. the scope felt solid but not to heavy and appeared to be beautifully made, and even the illumination didn’t seem to be as poor as what I’ve read in other reviews. I do wear eyeglasses, but they are corrected to a sharp vision and just for proof I brought out my old Vortex 2-10 and had no issues with its clarity scanning the back deck of another house at a hundred yards. The eye box was tight at ten power but no tighter than the leupold mark5HD at 18 power. Nothing appeared to be disturbed in the packaging. Utech box was not disturbed, and the scope itself was around by hard foam. I don’t know if there’s a possibility if I just got a bad sample. Out of all of the other reviews that I’ve scoured through the last month no one has ever stated that there is a clarity issue with these scopes. The only thing I’ve ever heard derogatory about the school is the tight eye box and the lack of daylight bright illumination but But for me it’s intended purpose was to be used for mid range shooting and I always keep a good head placement on my rifle when I’m shooting longer range so the tight eye box was a non factor for me. And if the illumination was not up to par. I could always use a 45° offset red dot like I do on my 5 to 25 Eotech.
