I ordered several pairs of clear lens prescription inserts for the ESS CDI sunglasses. I needed them as soon as possible, so I paid for rush servicing and two day shipping. After three weeks (the end of the quoted service time), I hadn't received the inserts. A few days later, I got an email from OpticsPlanet saying that the inserts were on backorder and should come to me within the next two weeks. They refunded my money for the two day shipping and gave me a free upgrade to overnight shipping! The following Friday, I had the inserts in my mailbox.
The following week, I decided to order two pairs of polarized grey prescription inserts as well so I can swap them out during bright days. I placed my order on a Saturday and received the new inserts the following Thursday. I'm not sure how they came so quick, but I was thrilled.
All of the lenses are perfect. I've had issues in the past with prescription lenses/sunglasses because I have an astigmatism in my left eye, but these lenses were perfect. Also, they are the correct strength. When I first tried to order directly from ESS, they were unable to provide anything stronger than -3. My right eye is -4, and they said they couldn't make these lenses that strong. I called OpticsPlanet customer service to confirm they could, and they said yes. The lenses are all the correct strength and angled correctly for my astigmatism. They're perfect! I would definitely buy these lenses again and buy from OpticsPlanet again.

This was a a great buy . Worth the money big time

I am a shooter and I require prescription glasses. Got these yellow lenses to go with my CDI frames so that I could see more detail while shooting indoors at the range. The lenses fit the CDI glasses perfectly. The come with a nice carry case, for when you do not have them in the frames. The yellow color really helps me see details and focus better while shooting indoors. I plan on getting some sunglasses lenses for my CDi frames as well.

This is my first pair of prescription sunglasses/safety glasses but I couldn't be happier. These babies stay on your head without squeezing it too hard and seem reasonably light. These glasses are very durable and the quality is very nice as well. My only con is the fact that I had to buy the glasses first, then the inserts. I cant use the shades that came with the glasses since I need a prescription. If they would let you just buy the glasses with the prescription as an option and select some other inserts with the same prescription it would at least save some time. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a rugged pair of glasses with interchangeable lenses.

Initially got a defective insert. Cannot tag the cause, but the Optics Planet team took great corrective action and I am now enjoying the modular aspect of the product. The ESS CDI are really a boon for active people that need safety an RX.
I have yet to test them in wet environments. I expect this type of product to annoy the churn of frames in the business since you can change the lenses (relatively easily) and can even keep spares.
Pros: You can change the prescription and keep the frames, moderate good looks
Cons: The inserts need to be done right in the lab, the lens has to be well seated in the insert
