Most Helpful Negative Review Wrong hardware for application
I had an issue with the hardware included to mount the rmr. Both machine screws are contacting my spitfire through the adapter. It is now partially shiny in two spots where there used to be a black coating. Cosmetics are not an issue for me. What is, however, is the same hardware lifting the adapter off the optic before the rmr is tight. Is it assumed we are supposed to source our own machine screws? To summarize, the included hardware does not function for its only purpose: to mount an rmr. Instead it pushes against my 5x, scratches it, and with blue loctite came loose after 200 55gr. I am m...

Best docter/vortex to rmr mount so far

by JB, Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on January 9, 2025
I have wasted my money on quite a few of these docter to RMR mounts and this one is the lowest profile. Read some negative reviews and was surprised. I had a great experience with mine and currently has an FDE RM09 mounted, barely can tell there’s an adapter plate. Bought others from OP and even cheap Amazon ones, those all sit ridiculously high. You should expect some trial/error fitting a Trijicon on a vortex footprint screw, and it’s all about finding the right screws which rarely come with the mount, in my experience.

Good Solution

It’s a well made solution that opens up a lot of red dot options. Others have reported that the adapter plate’s mounting screws are too long; I found that this was actually caused by the red dot’s mounting hardware being too long and bottoming out on top of the spitfire. If you select the correct length mounting screws for your red dot then this won’t be an issue.

Time and function

by Chum, from LA, United States Written on November 4, 2023
Several points of note--

The plate came with screws that were not fitted for the optic mount to fit flush.

The plate secured the RMR dot sight well and flush, but did NOT set correctly on the Spitfire and wobbled (with a metal tick noise to boot)

It took OpticsPlanet several months to get the part shipped, and as to whether this is fabrication or inventory, I cannot say, but waiting for months for a product that did not perform correctly was disappointing.

The company that makes the plate, EGW does not have a working phone line for customer support and requires you to send the product back before any assessment or replacement can be made.

Overall this was a terrible situation to be in over what should have been a simple plate adapter.
