Tried using this on a RIA TAC Ultra HC with a LPA sight. It was not even close to being the correct size. There was almost a quarter of an inch gap between the bottom of the mount and the top of the dovetail. Got a RMA and dropped it in the mail today.

I haven't tried my new red dot sights mount, yet! But I am ready having several for some of the firearms I have, both handguns, rifles and shotguns! I even purchased 2 Burris Fastfire 3 red dots from you. Thanks, again!

I bought the mount for the vortex viper for the sw m&p series of pistols to put on my m&p40 and the dovetail on the mount is way too wide and it doesn’t come close to fitting. The rear iron sights came out and went back on without trouble, but the red dot mount would not go on. The mount would only start and wouldn’t go on any further than about an 1/8” no matter how much persuasion was used. The vortex viper I bought with it to go on it barely fit on the mount as well.

Exactly as described. Easy install with a site pusher but I think it could’ve been done with a hammer and punch as well. I just wish rear sight had a rear site integrated together.

Here is a heads up to save you a minimum of $170 - The included screws with the base plate are COARSE THREAD screws, the screws included to mount the Vortex Venom are FINE THREAD screws. If you use the screws included in Vortex Venom as per the instructions of the optic, you will cross thread and destroy your base plate. It happened to me while using the supplied Vortex Venom screws and with a torque driver set at only 15 inch pounds as listed in the installation instructions of the base plate. Now I'm out $50 for the base plate, $35 to have the first one installed, another $50 for a new base plate, along with another $35 to have the current base plate removed and a new one reinstalled and as a result of cross threading the screws in the base plate I had to cancel my reserved range day without refund. Ive waited two months to get time off from work with my friends, setting up appointment at a gunsmith to have the base plated mounted, and to reserve a slot at the range, only to have this happen while mounting the optics the day before my reserved day at the range. Overall this is one of the worst experiences I've had and this base plate is made for only my Springfield XD pistol and only for two different optics; a Vortex Venom and a Burris optic. WHY WOULD YOU USE A DIFFERENT THREAD PITCH THAN THE MANUFACTURER OF THE OPTIC AND NOT INCLUDE A WARNING AS STEP 1 OF THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TO ONLY USE THE SCREWS SUPPLIED WITH THE BASE PLATE?! Hands down, I will not be spendin...

Pros:
- you get to waste time and money
Cons:
- Expensive
- Poor installation instructions
- Thread pitch on installation screws for optic to be installed on baseplate are not the same thread pitch as the installation screws that come wiht the base plate
Best Used for:
- Thrown in the trash
- Returned
