No change in recoil. Keeps the gun flatter.
I installed this in my Rival-S steel frame. I didn’t install it to reduce recoil. I don’t think recoil changed at all, oh well. But it does keep the gun flatter keeping my optic on target. Allows for faster follow up shots.

Wanted to replace factory spring for competition
I wanted to replace the factory spring in my pistol to improve the feel during recoil. For me, with 124-grain bullets, the soft long spring felt best. I have not experienced any issues with it to date. These are great quality. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to change the felt recoil.
