I have had a grip pod on one of my rifles for many years and found it to be a good compromise for added stability without using a full bipod. I wanted something similar for an AR I’m putting together with a 24 inch barrel and an ODG motif, but Grip Pods aren’t available in that color. I picked up this FAB Defense model at a discount as an open box example. It deploys quickly and feels stable once deployed. I like the fact that it cants and has adjustable leg length when deployed. It is much trickier to stow than a Grip Pod, and I have pinched my hand when doing so a few times now. Overall, I like the Grip Pod more on a shorter rifle, like the 16” AR mine is currently on. However, I like this Fab Defense model more for my longer rifle due to the adjustability and the fact that it matches that rifle’s color scheme.

It works well as a fore grip, but as soon as you open it as a bipod it becomes wobbly and unstable

This one is way better then the one with a light attached. It completes 2 tasks with one application. Mounts quick and easy, it deploys as a bipod quickly and you can even Kant the rifle left and right a little.

I was skeptical at first when ordering. But I quickly came to enjoy this. The bipod feels stable when shooting; collapse and deploy easily and has nice ergonomics.

Very well made product. Very adjustable, which was a huge assist while teaching my children how to shoot. 10/10 product.

I love the dual purpose use of this foregrip/bipod. It’s really easy to use, and quick to retract. Very user friendly!

I have used vertical grips in the past. Having a grip and bipod combo makes it even better. The release is stiff but having it deploy only when intending is worth it being on the stiff side

Works as advertised. Very robust construction. Very strong spring loaded legs. Would have given it 5 but I think the feet could be articulated.

The foregrip is easily understood and work effortlessly. I look forward to using it on my AR15.

I purchased this grip for my SR-762. My experience with grips is from my service in the 504th Infantry, 82nd AD and fighting 3 tours in Iraq. When you’re in a gun fight you’re ability to perceive and respond to a threat happens in milliseconds. In Iraq the conditions are extreme and it’s the ultimate testing ground for equipment. Hitting a drop zone at the rate of decent of 12.48 mph is another benchmark. As the saying goes, nobody can break something better than an Infantryman. In terms of combat equipment we were pretty spoiled in the 82nd AD. Our unit funds were unlimited so I never had to purchase all the extras for my standard issue items such as fore-grips and Oakley sunglasses. I probably burned through a couple dozen sets of Oakleys on the Army’s dime but not so much on fore-grips which were run of the mill Magpul’s. Since Iraq, veterans who fought have inundated the market with improvements from their real world experience. This fore-grip is a prime example of someone who knew what they were doing. The engineering is intuitive and thoughtful. The ability to add a pressure switch to the side is a nice touch though I might have made that vertical instead of horizontal, and more compatible with the larger Surefire taclight switch. I go with what I know which is what served me best in combat. I have Trijicon optics, Surefire illumination, Magpul stocks & mags, and I feel comfortable enough to add Fab Defense to that list.
