An absolutely top tier chassis/stock for the SKS. Certainly on the higher end for stocks you can get to update the SKS. Surpassing all other polymer chassis if looking to modernize and accurize the rifle. The barrel is as free floated as possible. The chassis fits snug with little to no play. The mag release lever improves the ability to change mags as it greatly increases force with their lever design.

I got the shock absorbing stock because it was on sale, less so because i wanted it. The stock due to its type of buffer tube doesn't allow it to collapse all the way which is annoying AF. So i had to drill new slots into the stock essentially eliminating the shock absorbing feature because it was simply uncomfortable to should with the stock being in its least extended position, though this is to allow the stock to cycle with the rifle. It also adds some weight which is meh.

The stock system also folds which adds more length to the already long rifle due to the hinge. I personally would prefer a non-folding non buffer stock as it would shave a good 2-3 inches off the total length of the rifle. Have contacted fab defense to see if i can swap or order a different stock but they have not gotten back to me.

Regardless of my gripes, this is hands down the best stock you can get for an SKS and doesn't feel or look like those cheap polymer stocks from 10 years ago.

I would buy it again and every time i want to put a stock on an SKS even with my gripes.

Initially received a UAS unit and the dust cap was missing 2 little springs on the back of the dust cap. I couldn’t figure out why it would move freely... I contacted Fab and they said to bring it to a smith, who of course said there was something missing! I re- ordered this one instead with the Proprietary recoil softener. This thing is SICK! Shoots like a charm and Optics planet took care of the full refund and return shipping on unit missing springs! Fab and OP seem to work together so if you’re considering buying this item Optics Planet DO IT !

Got it as a gift for someone and never got to see it put on but checked the box when it arrived and it was seemingly solidly built.

This stock is probably really good and really awesome for literally anyone else but me. I tried cutting the stock and trimming it but the SKS still won't fit. I don't know if it was because of my SKS or the stock but I will have to reluctantly give this a 1 star since the product just will not fit onto my rifle.
