12" 6.5Grendel is a beast
I love this barrel! It's super accurate. Hornady groups well under 1in @ 100 yards. Its handy in pistol for. It makes for a fast handling hunting rig. I have been hunting with this for about 1 month and have used it to take Pigs Coyotes and Deer. I was concerned it might not carry enough velocity using 123gr bullets ,but I was wrong. Everything I have shot has expired quickly and has had a nice size exit.
Awesome barrel
Excellent product. Gas port and grooves looked great on inside when inspecting before install. Finish on barrel is great and fit snug in upper. Waiting on couple other items to test accuracy but will update after shooting it.

Awesome shooter
Bought this not knowing what to expect shouldn't have worried hornady black groups around 1 inch at 100 yards and handloads are half that have used it to ring steel to 750 yes with good success have not attempted 1000 yet still working on a 1000 yard load bet it will do it
Pros:
- Very accurate
- Makes a sweet pistol
Cons:
- To much for home defense
Best Used for:
- target
- Hunting within reason

Review Update
This is an update to my initial review. This barrel can shoot. I had to fine tune the 123 Gr Hornady SST's but I found a good charge weight and bullet crimp and and shooting MOA or better. This barrel did not like the factory SST's at all but with hand loads it is a tack driver. I also shot some factory 129 Gr ELD match MOA or better. This might even get tighter if I had a better trigger and a higher power scope. I am using a Viper PST Gen II and while it has great glass, there is a limit to how accurate I can shoot at 6X and using a very heavy mil-spec trigger. I got the trigger with a lower parts kit and while it works I have no intention on keeping it for very long.
Pros:
- Accurate
Cons:
- A bit over gassed
Would recommend: Yes

Good Barrel, Gas Port a Bit Generous
My initial thoughts on this barrel after accuracy testing 40 rounds of factory Hornady Custom 123 gr SST are that it is a decent barrel. I was getting 1-1.5 inch groups at 100 yards when the barrel is cold. I Was getting 2.5-3 MOA when the barrel heats up but this barrel is light and that was not unexpected. This was after about a full 25 round mag. I really want to shoot the SST's exclusively out of this gun for their low velocity expansion threshold of 1600 fps. I would have liked slightly better initial results but I reload so I expect that I can bring this down to a sub 1 MOA gun or very close with the SST's. Point of impact shift when hot wasn't bad either at 100 yards. After a full mag, the shift was about 1 inch from cold bore to full 25 round mag hot. Another note is that the gas port seems generous. I got solid 3-4 o'clock ejection after settling on a H2 buffer. I wish it was slightly smaller and able to rock a H1 without being over gassed. My plan now is to swap to an adjustable gas block and swap back to a standard carbine buffer to cut down on carbon fouling and excessive wear. As this is the only melonited 12" Grendel barrel that I know of, I would recommend this barrel with no problem. If Ballistics Advantage offered their Hanson 12.5 inch barrel melonited, I may have gone with that. From my scouring the inter-webs, I believe that BA barrels maybe a slight bit more accurate but I have no first hand experience of this. I was spoiled with accuracy with my first AR...
