Nice barrel...when you get it
Haven't fired out of it yet, but it's for my daughter's rifle. I wanted light weight and high quality. It checks both those boxes. Without going carbon fiber crazy or spending 500 on a lightweight upper and lower etc. this barrel helped me get to a 5lb rifle with optic.

Unusable: corrosion in barrel extension
This barrel appeared to be everything I wanted for my lightweight build: Reasonable price, 1:8 twist, lightweight, minimum length, with an integral muzzle brake that still allows replacing of the gas block. Shipping was speedy and everything in the order was correct.

Nice barrel with muzzle brake
This is a really nicely made barrel with the pinned/welded 3 port brake. Even though it's just 1.5" shorter than a standard barrel, you can really feel the difference in how the firearm handles. My build included a LWRC ultra compact stock, so the rifle is really compact. The 3 port brake does a good job mitigating muzzle rise, but hey, it's 5.56/.223, so there's not much to begin with anyways. The only issue I had was that the weld was not completely flush. It was not much, but just enough to prevent the gas block from sliding over. A little filing and cold bluing did the trick.
As far as accuracy, I have not shot it off a bench at long ranges, but I'm sure it's a lot more accurate than me. My other Faxon barrels (16" 5.56 pencil and 10.5" 300aac) have been great and I'm sure this one won't disappoint me! Overall, this is an excellent barrel that I would recommend if you are looking to shave a little length without having to go SBR or pistol route.
