Wow, just wow !!!!! - Faxon Firearms .223 Wylde Flame Fluted AR-15 Rifle Barrel

I was looking to replace the original 16 inch barrel in an RRA rifle I have been using for competitions held at my local gun club. Though the rifle has been a consistent 1.5-2 MOA performer with good ammo, I was struggling to get consistent hits on an 8 inch steel gong at 300 yards from an unsupported prone position. I was looking to increase hit ratio and shave time off the clock. After reading endless reviews on the web for so many barrel manufacturers I decided to narrow my choices down to Faxon, Criterion, and Ballistic Advantage. I ultimately chose the Faxon 18 inch 223 Wylde Flame Fluted barrel with rifle length gas system based on the combination of weight, price, looks, and availability. I also opted to buy the Faxon bolt carrier group which is also outstanding. Optics Planet delivery was quick as usual. Installation was easy and quick. On my first range session I was hitting 10 shot sub-MOA groups at 100 yards with boring frequency using my own handloads with a variety of bullet weights as well as cheap Federal bulk 55 grain ammo. My best group was 0.5 MOA using reloads with 52 grain Sierra MatchKing bullets. When I moved to the 300 yard line I was amazed at the results - consistent 2.5 to 3 inch groups using a Leupold VXR 1-4X variable optic and shooting the Sierra MatchKing handloads. This barrel is absolutely AWESOME. I cannot recommend it enough.
