I HATE THIS BARREL
Because I have now bought another after buying my first. I cannot describe how wonderfully accurate, light, well made, and overall nice these barrels are. If you're ever doing a RECCE build or something similar this is the way to go. This thing shaves so much weight that it weighs less than a lot of shorter AR pistol barrels. Seriously, worth every penny.
Can’t wait!
I’m waiting for a backordered upper to put it on. I’m sure I will be pleased. It is so light when I received the box I thought they didn’t send anything.
Pros:
- Lightweight
Cons:
- Upper receiver on backorder
Best Used for:
- second amendment purposes

pencil barrel
I have changed my view of the AR platform since my military time now that Father Time has added a few years. Now I understand it’s about how reasonably light a gun is and still maintaining consistent groupings. It’s no longer about weight and heavy barrels for accuracy, when there isn’t a measure able difference under 150 yards. There are many options with better results, for heavier caliber weapons, than 556/223 as we all know. This barrel will exceed expectations in accuracy, and heat displacement. I am not a professional any longer, but It’s a good and consistent option for training purposes. Hopefully, That’s all I will ever need it for. It will seriously run!
Pros:
- Light & Accurate
Cons:
- None

Very accurate and light match barrel
I purchased the 16 inch barrel for a 4 lb AR15 rifle build. Very accurate match barrel. Be aware if you add a suppressor to the barrel, your point of impact will shift downward quite a bit. I had a 6 inch drop in point of impact at 50 yards when I attached a 21 oz Silencerco suppressor to the barrel. Also, be aware that the barrel is not dimpled for a set screw type gas block. I would advise purchasing/ordering a SLR rifleworks .625 dimpling jig if you intend to add a set screw type gas block to your barrel.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Accurate
Cons:
- Barrel not dimpled for set screw for gas block
- Point of impact changes when a suppressor is attached
Best Used for:
- lightweight AR15 builds
- 3-gun and tactical shooting

My first but not my last.
Okay it’s super lightweight, but it’s accurate as heck as well. Shooting 75 HP out to 600 yard. It’s like a laser beam. The finish is perfect only with is had dimples for set set screws for the GB. My first Faxon and because of the results I am going to order a heavy barrel version for a project gun in the near future.
Pros:
- Accurate
- great finish
- Light weight and easy mount
Cons:
- Wish it had dimples
Best Used for:
- mid range

Admirable workmanship, with one small issue to note..
I put this Barrel blank on a left handed build, using a stag arms upper and palmetto arms lower. The firearm is remarkably easy to manuever around due to the light weight. This isn't a combat weapon; I don't anticipate having to pump massive amounts of bullets through it in a firefight- heat dissipation will be adequate for my needs. Finish was excellent. While it wasn't meant to be a long distance tack driver, I have found the accuracy derived to be spot on. The gas hole is generous, herein lying the one exception- I would have liked to have dimples opposite the gas hole to simplify placement of the gas block- not that it was difficult! I recommend drawing a pencil line on the barrel to help confirm the location of the gas hole prior to installation- it does help. I will eventually be installing a noise suppressor, and I don't anticipate any issues with weight.
Pros:
- Weight and balance
Cons:
- Tax stamp required!
Best Used for:
- Competition, home defense, general use.

LOVE Faxon Barrels!
Faxon always has delivered a quality product that I am left very happy with, especially with the price point you’re usually paying for them. Supporting an American company putting out an amazing product. My barrel always delivers within 1 MOA, even when fed with sub par quality ammunition. Hardest part has been getting your hands in their barrels right now. Keep up the great work!

Awesome Barrel
Just got this in for my first ar15 build. Its super light and seems to be well made. Be careful because the gas block journal is .625" and only about 1.1" long pretty much your only option will be low profile gas blocks. I plan to have a Franklin Armory railed gas block cut-down, drilled, tapped, and plugged so that I can use a flip front sight and two piece handguards. This isn't a knock on the quality of the barrel which is top notch, just something to consider for your build.
Pros:
- Quality
- cost
- Weight
Cons:
