16 Inch Mid-Length. The barrel is accurate and very light. However this thing is wayyyyyyy over gassed. Faxon needs to put the gas port size in the description. Centerpiece of a 4lb build

Let's be real, this is for a lightweight build and that's it. Good news is it delivers. Very easy to build a 4 to 5lb piece with this barrel. 100 rounds in and no problems. Shoots decent groups for what it's intention is. What more can you ask for?

Faxon pencil profile

Although I don’t recommend a pencil barrel for heavy abuse, for the occasional shooter it’s perfect. My wife got sick and lost quite a bit of weight and could no longer shoot her normal AR so I made her a light weight build using this barrel. Now we can enjoy shooting again. I have a few Faxon barrels and I’m happy with all of them. Great quality and an even better price.

Awesome barrel

I purchased a 14.5 pencil barrel it is super light weight, and very nicely finished. So far it shoots very accurate. Only complaint at all is the bottom of the barrel isn't dimpled for gas block set screws bit that's a very minor complaint

Lightweight

This is a fantastic barrel, I used it on my wife's lightweight AR,I should have gone with the 14.5 pinned and welded for more weight savings have only shot steel out to 200 yards it's a very nice no recoil gun

  • Probably not a 10,000 round service barrel, but awesome for the application

Excellent barrel

Really nice light weight barrel. After a casual 200rds it was too hot for bare hands. Will need to use gloves next time. I have faxons aluminum handgaurd also. I love the faxons low pro gas block with the muzzle brake. Easy to disassemble.

awesome lightweight barrel

A really nice pencil barrel. Mounted it in an Aero slick upper with a carbon fiber handguard. (WWSD) project .I love the pinned gas block and the fit and finish of the barrel. very fast to get on target without over running. Very accurate and its not even broken in yet!surpressor mount added a little extra weight, but hey, some times you gotta stay quiet! It has made me a big fan of pencil barrels, I wish there was a replacement with a pinned front sight for my vintage SP1.
