Works flawlessly very clean fit and finish no complaints

First bolt ran good, but with some ammo I would get pierced primers. I found firing pin protrusion was excessive. On top of that the gas key staking is very weak. Staking wasn’t even touching the bolt in a few spots. I sent pictures to Faxon and they claimed it was fine. But as far as the industry standards go it was very poor. Customer service with the first bolt was very good. They told me they had a bad batch and sent me a new bolt. The second bolt also had excessive firing pin protrusion at 0.040”. I attempted to contact Faxon again but they stopped responding to my emails. I decided to just run the bolt anyway to see how it worked. I ended up having light strikes which was very surprising given the excessive protrusion. I measured bolt face depth and found it was excessive and machined beyond 0.136” that the type II’s are supposed to be. This caused excessive headspace and light strikes. I swapped the bolt out with a KAK using the Faxon carrier and the rifle is running flawlessly again. I will say the finish on the Faxon looks very nice but because of the poor QC and then ghosting me I will not purchase another Faxon product.

I bought the BCG under the impression Faxon was a good brand. The bolt had problems going into battery. After several attempts and finally getting it into battery once, the extractor wouldn’t pull the round out. Luckily, I know someone else that has a 6.5 Grendel with a different brand BCG, I put his in and it functioned to problem at all after a couple hours of trouble shooting and research we established the Faxon BCG was out of spec, I am extremely disappointed I will not be buying from Faxon Firearms again. I would stay away from this go with a different brand.

I have been using Faxon barrels for several years and have yet to be disappointed. Decided to try this BCG and as expected no disappointment. Quality is exceptional! Performs as it should. Thanks Faxon and thanks Optics Planet for fantastic customer service!

Excellent product. Machining and finish is superb. Exactly what I wanted for my build. Would recommend to others. No issues with cycling or function. Will be buying from Faxon again for future builds.

Overall construction of the BCG seeme great, and the finish was very nice. The issue came when trying to get it to seat into the upper. It kept stopping about 3/4 of an inch from flush. Troubleshooting revealed the gas tube was not seating in the gas key. The ID of the gas key was too small for the MILSPEC gas tube. I'm not sure if the coating on the inside of the key was the issue or not. Another BCG was able to fit no problem. When I attempted to swap gas keys, the screws on the Faxon BCG were stripped, causing one to shear. I'm not too pleased with the whole adventure, and the return process was slower than it should have been. It's been 3 days and im still waiting for my store credit to appear. I'm going to run a WMD nickel boron BCG instead. Hopefuly it works well with the Faxon barrel.

Checked headspace with Brownell's 16 inch Faxon barrel, checked out perfect. Operation good so far with manually cycling rounds, extraction was good, just need to shoot with it next. Not much else to say about it to get to my 200 character minimum ;)
