Great barrel, but pinned gas block needs work - Faxon Firearms AR-15 Goverment/Socom Profile Threaded Barrels

I received my first 16 inch barrel only to discover that the muzzle had a large gouge taken out of it. QC issues happen, so I returned to OpticsPlanet and got a nice replacement. The head space was tight (just barely closed on a NATO go-gauge with my bolt), fit nicely in my upper, and has a really nice, light profile — about a quarter pound lighter than the “lightweight” Del-Ton barrel it replaced. My only gripe with it is that the pinned gas block isn’t worth it. The tension pin they provided still allowed slight rotational movement of the gas block, so I ended up dimpling the barrel and staking the gas block screws anyway. Next time I would forego the pinned block.
