The threaded barrel is perfect, but, there is no cover for the threads.

Not a drop in

Not a drop in fit. 5 thousands too wide at the loaded chamber protrusion. So it wouldn't even drop in. About 4 thousands too long from locking shoulder to the back of said chamber protrusions. So if it did it would have issues and lock up. It arrived loose outside of its open factory clamshell, just getting slammed around in a plastic bag with no packing material. I'm fairly certain it was someone else's return anyway as the thread protector was screwed on the barrel, while the clamshell packaging has a little spot for it to sit separately and that's how other retailers display it in the packaging.

Perfect MP Barrel Upgrade!!

This Faxon match grade drop-in ready barrel was well worth the wait. These have been on backorder since at least when I purchased, back in April of 2026.
Barrel fits in perfectly in my MP 1.0 Full 9mm. The fluted barrel design was much nicer in person than pictures show.
I have already put 200 rounds through after receiving it and it is great. Highly recommend if you're wanting to upgrade your MP 1.0 Full 9mm.

Faxon Threaded Barrel

The Faxon barrel is well made. Most Faxon products are. Tight lockup on the M&P Gen 1. A perfect fit for plug and play. Delivery was a little slower than expected but tolerable.

Does not fit tolerances

My slide will not rack on my smith and Wesson M2.0 optics ready. I’m pretty disappointed and was looking forward to the barrel. This is not a true drop in replacement barrel. It will require fitting for your slide.
Pros:
  • best use for paper weight
